*This FREE camp is open to youth ages 7-18 that play or sing and have at least intermediate playing skills. Acceptance is to the first 40 young musicians that email an audition video/ recording for the camp, displaying their level of play for placement into one of five camp ensembles. All instruments will be considered.
The camp will conclude with a show at the Grand Opera House in Galveston on the final evening of camp. Breakfast, lunch and a free camp shirt is included.
FREE OVERNIGHT ACCOMODATIONS:
Overnight dorm room bunk-style facilities are available free of charge also for campers who wish to stay in Galveston for the five days and four nights of camp. A parent or guardian must stay with overnight guests. Overnight guests will be responsible for their evening meals. Overnight campers need to bring bedrolls for bunks and towels and toiletries. Participants must have a parent or sponsor stay with them. Robert and Sharon Wyrick will supervise. We also ask parents that are able to volunteer with support needs, such as food service, hall monitors, set up, tear down, etc. (not mandatory)
HOW TO APPLY:
Application Deadline is April 1st. (This date may be extended two weeks if needed and if the camp goal of 40 is not met by that time).

2. Make a video or recording of you playing/singing the song.

A registration form and release forms will be given to each child after we have their audition recording. We will send it along with the specific list of songs for the assigned ensemble. Participants are placed in groups. Each group will be assigned 3-4 songs each to learn before camp. We expect 4-5 groups of 8-10 kids each.
Eight great teachers lined up for the week long camp, all are band members themselves and three are instructors at the Clear Lake School of Rock. The other four include two private band instructors from Galveston. The Camp leaders are nationally known blues musician and his bass player Dante Ware.
