Gibson Goverment Series Flying V, Series I with Olive Green Case

Out of stock

Product Description

Grab a guitar destined to be a collectible with the limited-edition Gibson Government Series Flying V solidbody electric guitar. In August of 2011 the US Government raided the Gibson factory in Nashville and seized a large amount of wood. The seized wood, mostly rosewood, was eventually returned. This limited-edition guitar sports a rosewood fretboard that was seized in that raid. The Government Series Flying V gives you genuine Gibson sound and looks in an affordable US-made guitar. Limited to a run of 100 guitars, each Gibson Government Series Flying V guitar includes a custom olive green hardshell case.

A guitar designed to rock
It all starts with the mahogany body and comfortable set mahogany neck, which give the Gibson Government Series Flying V a rich midrange character and meaty sustain. The Flying V has been embraced by hard rockers the world over for decades, its set-neck construction, and fast-playing neck combine to give you an unbeatable sonic weapon onstage or in the studio. From the tonewoods to the rock-solid set-neck construction to the top-shelf hardware, this axe is made to do the job.

Special “Rounded” neck profile is fast and comfortable
Some Gibsons had huge mahogany necks, but by 1960 the company made a number of modifications until those early ’60s necks became among the fastest available. The special rounded neck profile of the Gibson Government Series Flying V is one favored by many of today’s top players. You can move up and down the neck at blazing speeds, but the rosewood fingerboard still has that warm, classic Gibson feel, allowing easy access to the upper frets so you can really dig into your solos. It also sounds great when grabbing big fat power chords. The pearloid dots complete the look Gibson Government Series Flying V.

Dirty Fingers + pickups deliver the aggressive sound of hard rock
When modern punk and metal guitarists started experimenting with vintage pickups in the early 2000s, it’s little wonder that they rekindled the demand for Gibson’s long-out-of-production Dirty Fingers humbucking pickups. After all, it was only a little over two decades before that these pickups helped to divide the nasty, raw, and distortion-rich sound that broke punk and metal away from mainstream rock. The Gibson Government Series Flying V model is a lot like the guitars that inspired these modern shredders, featuring the performance and the tone that kicked off two waves of aggressive rock. Whether you’re diming a classic British high-gain stack or unleashing the fury of a tubetastic terror from the hills of California, the Government Series Flying V will let your amp unleash the fury your music demands.
